City Science is thrilled to announce our successful appointment to deliver the next stage of Transport for the West Midlands (TfWM) Local Transport Plan (LTP5) as part of a team led by Steer.
TfWM, in their role as statutory local transport body representing the seven local authorities in the West Midlands, have already progressed Stages 1 and 2 of LTP5, in which they laid the foundations of the TfWM wide plan. This next stage will involve developing localised Area Strategies for TfWM’s four areas (Black Country, Birmingham, Coventry, and Solihull) alongside the LTP Implementation Plan and LTP Review Plan.
Working alongside Steer and Sweco, City Science’s role in the project will be to support development of the LTP through designing and implementing a robust, innovative and interactive scheme assessment methodology in partnership with TfWM and the seven local authorities. This will assess the potential scheme impacts to ensure outcomes such as tackling the climate emergency, encouraging people to become more active and supporting local communities can be delivered in future.
