We are pleased to announce that City Science has been commissioned by Barnet Council to deliver a transport decarbonisation pathway study for the London Borough of Barnet.
Following on from our work with Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kingston, we are delighted to announce that we have been commissioned to deliver a transport decarbonisation pathway study for the London Borough of Barnet. Building on our successfully proven approach, we will provide Barnet with an overview of their current transport-related carbon emissions, and forecast potential carbon trajectories, which support net zero by 2050. We will work collaboratively with the Borough Council and the GLA to develop a long list of interventions which would support the reduction of transport-related carbon emissions in line with the forecasted trajectories.
This work will make use of our online, interactive Transport Decarbonisation Tool, which we have specifically designed to allow Council officers and Members to test different packages of options in line with the transport hierarchy – avoiding trips altogether, shifting to more sustainable modes, and electrification of the fleet. We will present our findings in an accessible and engaging report, which clearly outlines a set of key findings and recommendations for the Council which will support them in achieving their net zero ambitions.
